Design trends change frequently and many of us try to keep up with them, but not everyone can afford a major makeover every few years. If you are looking to freshen up your space, two of the big paint companies recently announced their Colour of the Year for 2020.
Benjamin Moore selected First Light (2102-70). This colour is a soft, rosy pink that is airy and easy on the eyes. Kind of like those first beautiful rays of the sunrise. It is an elegant, more feminine colour which I don’t think would be everyone’s cup of tea. While this wouldn’t be my first choice for an accent colour, you can find some nice pieces at HomeSense, Bouclair, Pier 1 and many other retailers as it is on trend right now.

The Sherwin-Williams Colour of the Year for 2020 is Naval (SW 6244). This colour is a rich navy that is both bold and calm; reminding us of the deep sea and night sky. I love this colour! Many of you may like it as well, but you may not be daring enough to paint it on your walls. With a colour like Naval on the walls, it definitely creates a much more dramatic look.

So, both colours are quite different and beautiful in their own way. They can really work together, by using one as the dominant colour or just using both of them as accent colours.
What do you think about this colour combination? Does either colour tickle your fancy?
